Question 1

How do you play ANIMORE?

Accepted Answer

Click tiles to uncover parts of a hidden anime screenshot, then type the anime’s name before the 60-second timer runs out. A full run is 10 rounds.

Question 2

Is ANIMORE free to play?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ANIMORE is free, needs no account, and runs in the browser with nothing to download or install.

Question 3

How is the score calculated?

Accepted Answer

Each round is worth up to 1000 points. The fewer of the 24 tiles you reveal and the faster you answer, the more points you keep. Every wrong guess takes 25 points off what that round can still pay, and uncovering the whole board scores close to zero.

Question 4

How many games can you play a day?

Accepted Answer

Three runs a day. The counter resets at midnight in your own timezone.

Question 5

Can I play ANIMORE on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It runs in any modern mobile browser, no app required.

Question 6

Which anime are in the game?

Accepted Answer

The line-up covers 27 series: Attack on Titan, Bleach, Blue Lock, Bungo Stray Dogs, Chainsaw Man, Dandadan, Death Note, Demon Slayer, Frieren, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Gintama, Haikyu!!, Hell's Paradise, Hunter x Hunter, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Mashle, My Hero Academia, Naruto, One Piece, One Punch Man, Sakamoto Days, Tokyo Ghoul, Tougen Anki, Witch Hat Atelier and Yomi no Tsugai. Short forms are accepted, so "jjk", "kny", "aot" and "hxh" all count as correct answers.

Question 7

How is ANIMORE different from Wordle?

Accepted Answer

Wordle is a word puzzle with one shared daily answer. ANIMORE is a visual recognition game: a run is 10 anime screenshots played against a per-round clock, scored on speed and on how little of the image you needed to recognise the show.

Question 8

What is a good anime guessing game to play in the browser?

Accepted Answer

ANIMORE is a free one: no sign-up, no install, and a run takes about five minutes. Each round hides an anime screenshot behind 24 tiles and scores you on how few you had to open. The line-up is 27 mainstream series, so it plays best if you have watched a season or two of the big shonen and sports titles.

Question 9

Is there an anime version of Wordle?

Accepted Answer

ANIMORE is the closest thing in spirit: a short daily habit, three runs a day, scored and shareable. It swaps letter-guessing for picture-guessing, so what it tests is how quickly you recognise a show from a fragment of one frame.

Question 10

Can you play ANIMORE with friends?

Accepted Answer

There is no live multiplayer. The way people play it together is by comparing scores: everyone plays their own run and posts the total, and the global leaderboard tracks the best of them.
